Looking for your next fun and exciting vacation hotspot, but not too sure where the best lesbian friendly cities are? We have done all the work for you with this list of the top ten holiday hotspots for you and your sweetheart. While you will find some of the expected gay friendly cities here, you may also find a few places you never saw coming. Did you know you can say “Bible Belt” and “Lesbian Friendly” in the same sentence? Who knew? Read on for our top ten picks.

Las Vegas, Nevada
Las Vegas is one of those vibrant, eclectic, round the clock cities that has a little bit of everything. Hit the Hoover Dam Tour, browse those gorgeous Bellagio gardens, and catch the water show out front. If you get a chance you will love a visit to the Candybar. This, the hottest lesbian dance club in town, is open Saturday nights only, starting the party around 11:00 p.m. It’s worth staying up late for.

San Francisco, California
San Francisco is famous for its gay friendly vibe and gorgeous scenery, and you will find both in full force here. Best tourist activities are the spectacular shopping, cable car rides, and Alcatraz prison. Hands down the best time to go is during Gay Pride weekend, but you will find rainbows in this great city year round.

Provincetown, Massachusetts
Far from being New England uptight, this town is accepting, laid back, and as gay friendly as it gets. Many of the local B&B’s and watering holes are gay owned, and friendly casual is the prevailing attitude here. Of course lobster dinner is a requirement here, but don’t forget to take time to roam these beautiful wind-swept beaches.

Seattle, Washington
For the hottest music scene, gorgeous rain drenched scenery, and most charming coffee shops, Seattle is your city. The Capitol Hill district is especially gay friendly, but you’ll find the whole city warm and welcoming. Don’t miss the Space Needle and remember to bring your umbrellas!

Key West, Florida
To find a relaxing and super welcoming atmosphere in the tropical heat, visit Key West. Home to not only gorgeous sandy beaches and fantastic Margarita bars, but also a very active lesbian community, you’ll love the feel of this place. Browse the tiny shops, the eclectic bookstores, and go ahead and take that mid-day siesta on the beach with your sweetie. You’ve earned it!

New York, New York
You’ll find absolutely everything here in America’s most culturally diverse city. In New York, it goes beyond just “gay friendly”- here, it’s total acceptance. Play tourist at the Empire State Building, shop and party in the artistic SoHo, and try to sample some of the amazing and varied ethnic cuisine while you’re here. You’ll wish you had more time to explore since NY is one of those ever-unfolding adventures.

Dallas, Texas
Even though it’s planted squarely in the uber-conservative Bible Belt of the deep South, you’ll find lots to love about gay friendly Dallas. This town, and the nearby bedroom community of Denton, are meccas for the gays and lesbians in the area and have a hip and active presence. While you’re here, don’t forget to visit Southfork ranch from the famed Dallas tv series. When in Dallas, eat Texas style and have one of the giant steaks the city is known for.

Montreal, Canada
For a dose of European culture without being too far from home, you’ll love Montreal. This is an especially gay friendly city, and enlightened too: gay marriage is legal here. Stop by the Rue St. Catherine at night for the city’s gay clubs and nightlife at its finest. This is the largest gay district in North America, so plan plenty of time to browse, mingle, and soak up the culture.

Atlanta, Georgia
Another deep South choice that may surprise you, Atlanta is home to a very active and close knit lesbian and gay community. Stop by the Little Five Points area, where you’ll find the city’s favorite gay neighborhood. L5P, as the locals call it, has charming small bookstores, great live theater, and the hottest music in the city.

Albuquerque, New Mexico
Boasting some of the most striking scenery in the Southwest and bursting with history, culture, and great food, Albuquerque is a great lesbian destination. The “old town” area is especially lesbian friendly, and filled with offbeat small shops and great local eateries often run by gay residents. While you’re here make sure to take a ride on the tramway up to Sandia Peak. These are views of snow topped mountains at 5,000 feet elevation which you’ll never forget. Any New Mexico meal has to include green chili, so pile it on and enjoy this surprisingly mild taste treat.
